How it works

From oversized image to finished poster.

One deliberate workflow, eight steps. No uploads, no cloud processing - everything happens inside the Windows application on your machine.

With Splitter Studio

36 × 48″ artwork 12 A3 tiles assemble = full-size poster
01

Open your image

Load a high-resolution poster, photograph, architectural render or artwork. Splitter Studio reads the pixel dimensions and reports what you have to work with.

Your original file is never modified - it is only read as the source for every generated tile.

02

Choose your paper

Pick the sheets you actually have: A3, A4, A5, Letter, Legal or Tabloid presets - or define a custom size entirely.

Orientation can be chosen per job or left to Splitter Studio to optimize the sheet count.

03

Set your final size

Enter real-world dimensions - say 36 × 48 inches. This is the size the assembled poster will be, not an abstract scale factor.

Millimeters and centimeters work equally well; every unit converts exactly.

04

Let Splitter Studio calculate the layout

Splitter Studio determines rows, columns, total sheets, per-sheet printable area after margins, overlap requirements and effective DPI.

If your source image cannot honestly reach the target DPI, you will know now - not after printing.

05

Preview

See exactly how the artwork divides: tile boundaries, paper edges, printable area, overlap strips and crop marks, with zoomable inspection of any tile.

Adjust margins or overlap and watch the layout respond instantly.

06

Generate

Produce full-resolution tiles by extracting exact regions directly from the original image - no intermediate resaves, no quality tax.

Generation happens locally on your machine.

07

Print

Send tiles to any Windows-installed printer sequentially: choose printer, paper, orientation, quality and copies once - Splitter Studio works through the queue sheet by sheet.

Interrupted? Retry a single tile or resume exactly where the job stopped.

08

Assemble

Lay out the printed sheets using the tile map. Overlap strips align adjacent pages; crop marks show where to trim; labels identify every position.

A few straight cuts and some tape or adhesive - and the poster is on the wall.

Assembly

Precision doesn’t end at the printer.

Every sheet carries the information needed to put the puzzle together: a tile label, alignment overlap on shared edges, and crop marks at the corners. The exported assembly map shows where each sheet belongs at a glance.
